WHO WE ARE
Chi Alpha = community. We are more than an organization, but a community of students on campus, and a movement across the nation (on nearly 300 campuses). Our groups meet weekly in small and large gatherings, in joy-filled laughter, heart-felt prayer, and intentional service. Our name comes from 2 Corinthians 5:20:
We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.
We’d love to have you join us as you pursue a degree. Bring your faith and your fears, your strengths and your weaknesses, your enthusiasm and your questions, your past story and your present journey. There’s always room for one more friend.
Northeast Chi Alpha comprises Chi Alpha’s in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, DC, and most of Virginia and West Virginia. We are supported by the Assemblies of God, Chi Alpha USA, and our many alumni spread across the world.

We are diverse
Spend any time with us and you’ll quickly see we’re all different. We’re biology majors, linguistics majors, art majors, and undecided. We’re freshmen and transfers students and seniors. We are ethnically diverse with many different backgrounds.
But we do have a few things in common! We recognize that college is a unique time of our lives and we want to make the most of it. And Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”. As we choose to follow Him we are experiencing that to be true.
We are a community
Jesus also said no one should follow Him by themselves, so as a community we are involved in each other’s lives. We gather weekly in small groups where we share life, pray, and read the Bible together. All of us also have the opportunity to meet regularly with a small group leader to help us grow in following Jesus well. And each week everybody in Chi Alpha comes together to worship God, listen to a teaching from the Scripture, and share with each other what God is doing in the world.
Whenever we gather in these ways, we anticipate interacting with God himself as the Holy Spirit fills our lives with his presence.
We are messengers
In a hurting and broken world, Jesus claims to bring healing and hope—and He sends us as His messengers! That’s where we get our name Chi Alpha: we are christou apostoloi, Christ’s Ambassadors!
We care deeply for our campuses, for our broader communities, and for the world, so you’ll find us sharing the good news about Jesus wherever we go – out on campus, in our classes, in local communities, and across the world.
