XAMK Camp Expectations
The theme for XAMK Camp 2025 is Campfire Conversations! We will gather around the (pretend) campfire and discuss conversations that happened around campfires in the Bible. Campers will also make all the camp-style crafts, play camp-style games, and eat camp snacks. Expect tents, bandanas, s’mores, bright orange and woodland green.
Please prepare to drop your child off in the Children’s Chapel each morning, 30 minutes before the morning session begins. Use the door closest to the Children’s Chapel, door number E7 (this is different from the years prior and will make your walk to and from The Summit much shorter). Look for our XAMK signs. Our XAMK staff will bring them over to you at The Summit (basketball cage) for lunch, then we will receive them back from you at the basketball cage for our afternoon program. You will pick them up at the Children’s Chapel at the end of your session. Please be prompt.
Send your child with a labeled water bottle each day. This saves on creating more trash with disposable cups.
While we deeply want you to be able to fully focus on the sessions, we do need to be able to contact you if necessary. Please pay attention to your phone for texts from XAMK staff.
Thursday evening is a movie night. Feel free to send the children in pajamas and with their comfiest pillow or blanket. (Movie selection TBD)
*This information will be repeated at the Parent Orientation Monday evening during dinner. At that meeting, you will also meet your child’s XAMK group leader and confirmregistration data.
XAMK Program Safety Protocols
Adult staff will have all passed a thorough background check and have come recommended by their pastor.
Adult staff & teen helpers will never be alone with any minor.
Children will only be released to their parent.
Staff & helpers will not be allowed to take any pictures or videos of any minor during XAMK sessions on their cell phones. (One large group picture will be taken by Lindsay and only shared with the XAMK parents. One “from the back of the room” picture will be taken by Lindsay to share with supporting churches, no faces will be shown.)
Children will not sit on laps, but will sit next to adults.
Parents will be contacted for all diaper changes and be given the choice to come attend to bathroom needs for their older kids. Otherwise, the bathroom procedure is designed so that we will go in groups. Children will use the bathroom stalls independently, one adult/helper will stand in the open area of the bathroom for safety, another adult will stand at the open doorway. All adults are within eyesight of each other. Please send your children to XAMK events wearing clothing that is easy for the child to handle independently.
Classes will move throughout the building as units. The classes consist of XAMKs, 2 or more adults, teen helpers.
If any medical emergencies that require more than a quick band-aid occur, parents will be notified immediately unless otherwise requested.
